Jun. 27th, 2009 @ 11:47 am New rules, old game.
I have done a little research into the new Magic: The Gathering rules which are due out with next year's edition and i am not sure i like them.

Thank you Wizards, thanks again.

Two biggest changes are Mana Burn... gone. It will just cease to exist to make the game "less complicated". Whatever... a little used play mechanic which i found flavorful and brought a bit of strategy into play at times.
Also Combat Damage is going to be redone and is no longer a part of the stack... this is going to remove the "sacrifice in response to..." mechanic and i wonder if i can ever unlearn that! I figured that out back in Chicago... blew me away then. Oh well, we shall see.

magic! i haven't played that shiz in like a decade. i used to have a wicked red/white/blue deck (the patriotic colors were a coincidence) designed for 3+ player matches that i won lots of matches with. i think it was the first deck that i made that didn't blow, so i retired from the magic scene shortly afterwards, eager to end on a high note.

Yes! We should play soon for sure... its like a fast-spreading zombie plague, only with collectible trading cards.
I will let you know next time we are getting some game on, maybe next week.
